I am still getting duplicate values. When the query grabs a value from the labour table it also grabs the values from the other tables and puts them in the same row. There are many rows in the three costs tables and only one in the work table. I have a dump of the rows but I cannot find a way to save it here. I'm attempting to update my T41 BIOS and Embedded Controller Program to the latest versions (3.13 / 3.04). My T41 does not have a diskette drive, so I'm using the non-diskette versions of both. Except. This page:to be the non-diskette version of the ECP update. But it links to what seems to be the diskette version of the update program -- 1rhj10ud.exe. When I run it, it wants me to point it to a drive that can write a diskette. Note that the installation instructions on this page talk about 1rhj10us.exe as the program ('s', not 'd' at the end):'In the Open dialogue box, specify the utility filename with the full path name where you stored Embedded Controller Program Update Utility.

First, make sure no floppy disk is in the floppy drive itself. If there is no floppy in the drive then, open the system and turn the floppy disk cable around. Does the floppy light stay lit? You can also boot the system into the bios and set the first boot device to be cdrom first then maybe harddrive second. You may have also contacted a bug. You can try toBoot off XP CD and select 'Repair an install using the Recovery Console'.Type in FIXBOOT/ FIXMBR.
My computer is messed up, and that's g - rated compared to what I really feel about this contraption. The following happened while I was using Outlook Express, clicking links. WINDOWS A fatal exception 0E has occured at 017F:BFF9DFFF.
The Current application will be terminated. Press any key to continue. After pressing a key to continue, the computer screen showed some pieces of the Outlook Express program and the following was displayed in the center of the screen: EXPLORER, Explorer caused a general protection fault in module KRNL386.EXE at 0001:000075a2. When I clicked the close button I got the fatal exception blue screen described above.
To continue on I had to shut the computer down, to restart. Other tidbits: System resources are low and I don't know what programs to close and what programs to keep running in the background at startup.
Also after the desktop loads I click on any icon and 'My Computer' icon fades from top to bottom like a wave. This wave effect also occurs when I close a program I am using. A couple of weeks ago I ran Dell Diagnostics to find out if there were any errors and it found about 7 hardware errors.
I don't know what to do. I would really appreciate someone's help to get this computer functioning properly. I also realize after downloading a program from the net that you're supposed to close all programs running to avoid conflicts, but that's where not knowing exactly what to shut down from startup comes in. All programs that I could see visually were closed but there were programs running in the background.

What do you mean by 'Diskette', is this a floppy disk, a CD, or a DVD? The latter two types and relevant autoplay actions should be controlled by settings in Control Panel AutoPlay in Windows 7. All three disk types can be opened via Explorer and doubleleft clicking on the drive icon.

Hi, Config: PC dual-Xeon 2.4 Ghz, 2Gb Mem, 2*80 G disks, mother board: ASUS PR-DLSW BIOS 1008 To install Solaris 9 update2, a boot diskette is create from the delivery using commands described into the README: - volcheck - dd if=d1_image of=/vol/dev/aliases/floppy0 bs=36k This diskette is working on a one CPU PC. On the dual CPU PC, the system doesn't boot on the diskette and hang, a hardware reset is request (power off) To workaround this problem, the Solaris 9 12/02 X86 installation CD was used, and is working.
Then, the installation has been done without any problem, except for the graphic card (workaround during installation, and solve by additional packages during post installation). After this installation, the system has to reboot on the disk. The system cannot read the boot partition (first level boot) of the hard disk, it hangs (hardware reset needed) when it try to access the boot sector. To confirm that the boot partition is correct, a regeneration has been done using the command /sbin/fdisk -b /usr/lib/fs/ufs/mboot /dev/rdsk/c0d0p0 Solaris has been correctly installed on the disk, but not boot. To confirm this, the boot is done with the installation CD, and after some dialog, the disk is define to continue the OS boot and works.
An other way to confirm, the disk has been installed on other PC (one CPU) and the system boots one this disk. Conclusion: - Disk driver is correct because the disk can be accessed - Boot mechanism (first level boot) doesn't work (diskette and disk) except for CDROM Is a compatibility problem?
Is the problem known? With a solution/workaround? Thanks for your help Eric. The following reported problem concerns a Dell Optiplex GX520, mini tower. As being a satisfied user of this computer, I decided to upgrade my machine with (brand new) 2 GB of RAM and a new HD.
After the upgrade, when booting, the computer beeps twices and gives the following error message: Floppy Diskette seek Failure Strike F1 key to continue or F2 to run the setup utility. When I look in the BIOS maintenance log list, the message stated: CMOS checksum error. After F1 (Continue), the computer functions normally.
I have tried many thing: (1) I have removed the CMOS battery over night to surely reset the CMOS/BIOS settings. Then, changed the Boot list, to first CD and second Sata-0. Subsequently unchecked the floppy and disabled the floppy in corresponding BIOS-item. After every restart of the computer, the floppy is spontaneously (re)set to internal again. The other settings are not reset.
(2) Ran the complete Dell ResourceCD Hardware Test set successfully (no errors found). Thus RAM is OK, and HD is OK. (3) After updating the BIOS to version A11, the problem still exists. (4) Then I bought, second hand, a fresh Optiplex GX520 system. Installed the newly bought RAM and HD.
And the new computer failed as well. (5) In an attempt to detect the problem, I reinstalled the old RAM and old HD. However, problem persists.
Does anyone has a solution/suggestion? Many thanks in advance.

Hey everyone.i have a dimension c521 that my aunt just gave me. Now it is near new but i have one problem. I want to reload the factory settings onto the computer to take my aunts name out of everythin and start fresh.
Well when i push F2 at startup of the computer it brings me to the setup page. I go down to maintenance then to load defaults.everything goes fine.then when i save and exit and the system reboots to load all of the default settings.i get an error message saying Diskette drive 0 seek failure.

When the Windows XP Setup window is generated, press S to specify an Additional Device(s). Insert the driver diskette Intel IAA RAID XP Driver For ICH6R (FW82801FR) into drive A: and press Enter. My Mobo package only has a diskette titled G72-ICH6010 for Intel ICH6R/VIA VT6410.
That disk is not recognised by Set-up as having any drivers on it. Does it have to be formatted in some special way? Is the disk supposed to work straight out of the box? Has anyone out there successfully used or extracted files from this diskette to make up a driver set that windows XP setup will recognise and accept??
So far I cannot get past the blue screen message that comes up after selecting the S option: Please insert Manufacturer Supplied Hardware Support Disk into Drive A etc. It is very frustrating. I know the floppy drive works, and I can see from the drive light that it is being used, but whatever the system is looking for is clearly not present on the disk. At this point in the installation of WinXP, the OS is looking for OEM drivers and apparently is not detecting any storage drivers on the diskette you are putting into your floppy drive. If you have another computer available (I figure you do since you are posting), you can download the drivers from MSIs website at The file will be a zip file so you will have to have a means of extracting those files. Once extracted, youll see a DIR called Floppy.
Double click on that DIR, copy all the files there to a blank formated floppy. That should work. The disk you received with your MB may be damaged but for whatever reason, the only way you will be able to see if there is a different problem is to rule out the driver diskette by trying this first.

Instead, go into the Help section of Smartcert and disable proxy there. Then UNLOAD IPFLT on the BMgr server to drop filtering.
Then run Smartcert. It should download your license files, and actually show progress.
(With proxy, it says it is successful, but nothing actually happens). Then LOAD IPFLT when done.

Hi, Our hardware environment is made up of solely optiplex's - GX110, 240, 260 270's We have used ghost 7.5 executable to create / restore images for various microsoft operating systems in the past and this has worked well. We use a boot diskette to connect to our internal LAN. The boot diskette is configured for the 3com 3c920 integrated Fast Ethernet Controller. I am testing the Ghost version 8.0 executable at the moment and I have noticed that for some reason when I run the ghost.exe, it takes afew seconds for the 'About Symantec Ghost' splashscreen to appear.
I have used both a new boot disc (created with with the Ghost Boot Wizard) and our original boot diskette, but the results have being the same for both diskettes. Using ghost.exe (v7.5), resulted in the splashscreen appearing immediately once you decided to run the ghost.exe Overall, there seems to be a slight decline in performance when using ghost version 8. Creating and restoring of images is taking slightly longer to complete. Just wondering has anyone else come across this issue and what they did to resolve it.
Is it possible to use a switch with the ghost.exe to increase the network speed?? Any help on this is greatly appreciated. Hi all, thanks in advance for your help. I came into possesion of a Inspiron 530S all original hardware configuration with win Vista.
I didnt like Vista so i wiped the drive and installed XP Pro. The machine works great with XP Pro except.on boot, right after the Dell splash screen, i get the error messege Diskette drive 0 seek failure. Press F1 to continue, F2 to enter setup. Press F1 and the machine boots into windows XP just fine and works great. Have upgraded bios to Phoenix Award BIOS CMOS ver 1.0.18, have tried connecting the drive in every different SATA connector, have tried different drives.
Any ideas/help would be appreciated. Not a critical issue, just an annoyance. Thanks again, Chris. I recently tried to install a new hard drive in my Dimension 4100. After running the MaxBlast 4 Cd for my Maxtor Ultra Series 200 GB Hard Drive, I tried to load XP Professional, only to receive a message 'NTLDR is missing.'
Instructions that came with Maxtor drive said restarting the computer should do the trick. Of course, nothing is ever that easy, right? After doing some research, I figured that updating my BIOS might help solve the problem. So, I donwloaded the latest version of BIOS for the Dimension 4100, version 11, I believe. I created the bootable floppy disk and then tried to boot up my computer from the disk to update the BIOS. Now, I receive the message 'Non bootable diskette in Drive.'
Any ideas on this one? Also in reviewing your posting I came across something I missed earlier and that is the size of the hard drive you are trying to install. Sorry about that! With the 4100 model, the BIOS will not support a 200 gig hard drive regardless of which BIOS version you try an install. You can install a ATA Controller card in an open PCI slot which will then manage the new hard drive instead of the system's BIOS. This will cost around $30 to add a controller card. Some 4100 owners have reported gettting around this BIOS limitation without using a controller cardby using the Intel Application Accelerator as the chipset driver along with Windows XP with at least SP1 installed.
You can click here for the Intel Application Accelerator update. I have to this from daughter's computer since mine is not in working order and the last thing I did before that happened was the installation of free version of Spyware Doctor last night. I ran a full scan, putting some items in 'ignore', but most into 'remove and quarantine.' I then shut down the computer for the night. When I tried starting up the computer this morning, I got as far as the Dell Logo, at which point it froze temporarily and then changed to a black screen with the white notation, 'Invalid Boot Diskette, Insert Boot Diskette in A'. I have no idea what that means.
I didn't put any Boot Diskette in the drive to begin with. I then tried starting up with my Symantec Rescue disk and then with my Windows boot up disk but neither worked so I cannot get to the Safe Mode in order to revert my computer to an earlier date with System Restore. When I restart and hold down the left shift key I get the message, 'Legacy mouse enabled, USB Legacy, Keyboard error' Did I remove a vital component? Can anyone help? I have Internet Explore 6 and a cable connection. I'm experiencing a periodic connection loss. Every five or ten minutes.
Disconnecting and reconnecting the cable modem restores the connection for another five or ten minutes. Any suggestions appreciated.
Hello Sonu, Is your original application calling the sbslib32.dll? If so, is the same version of the dll on the current computer? When are you getting this error, when you open the project, when you compile it or when you run it? If all else fails, I think it might be better for you to create a new project in CVI 7.1 and add in all the source files and libraries that you are using. Hope this helps.

Windows7 Ultimate (64 bits) does not recognize a USB-connected floppy drive or disk that works fine with Windows XP and, before I installed Windows7,that used to work with Vista Ultimate (64 bits).
I can plug this TEAC drive into another machine, a notebook running Windows XP, and there is no problem--I see the six.doc files on the diskette, and I can open all of them. But when the same drive (with the same 3.5' floppy diskette) is plugged into the Window7 machine, I am told to insert the diskette, which is never read.
A speedometer for Computer slowly proceeds across the top of the screen, but nothing happens. No matter what I do, I see:'Please insert a disk into Floppy Disk Drive (A)'. Rebooting does not help. And canceling and reinsertion of the diskette changes nothing. Launching Word and then trying to open the files from Word's Open gets me nowhere. Disabling my anti-virus software changes nothing. Windows tells me that the floppy drive is installed; I see it listed by name (TEAC drive) in Device Manager; and from Device Manager I have tried deleting the driver for this TEAC drive--Windows then reinstalls it.
I also tried to update this drive from Device Manager, but then I am told: 'Windows has determined that the driver softwarefor your deviceis up to date'. With the exception of installing MS Essentials free spyware software over a month ago, I have not installed anything recently. Prior to that I had an expired version of Norton which I uninstalled i order to install MS Essentials. I should disclose I installed MS Essentials because one of my kids managed to to something that installed a virus on the computer - - one that wanted me to purchase their software to remove. Essential found the virus and removed it and all was fine until yesterday. I am running XP Home Edition Version 2002 with Service Pack 2.
I cannot say I'm up to date with the updates for Windows. I ran sfc /scannow at the advice of a friend and nothing happened. The scan ran but there was no message afterwards and when I rebooted I immediately received the message again. I now have no internet connection as a result of this problem. I also tried start/run regsvr32 winsock.dll but received a message stating it was not an executable file. Lastly I tried netdiag/test: winsock and reviewed the sections listed under protocol.
There were 10 section headings that matched what I found in the knowledge base. I'm out of ideas or more accurately, I could not find anything else online to try. I was desperate enough to copy the winsock.dll from my laptop to the problem PC but that did not help either. The computer is a Dell Desktop. I am getting an error message Invalid Boot Diskette Insert BOOT diskette in A: when I start the computer which is a Dimension 4100 running on Windows 98 working great for the past 5 years till couple of months. I first got this message about 6 to 7 weeks back. I tried to log in with an valid boot diskette but still no use.
I tried playing with the set up options but still no use. Everythime I got the same error message. Then suddenly about two weeks after I saw that message, I tried to start the computer and computer started without this error message running the Scandisk with a message that my computer was not shut down properly. It was working fine for couple of days unitil there was a total power failure at my place. When the power came back and when I started the computer, I got the same error message. I thought may be there was some hardware problem.
So opened the system, took out the hard drive, cables and put it back again. Still I got the same error message. Day before yesterday after about 10 days, when I started it, I did not see the error message. I was working the whole day and shut it down that night. Yesterday when I tried to start, I see the same error message.
I have tried disabling the floppy disk drive from the set up. Still same error message. I did reformat my hard disk several months before using the dell resource and recovery CDs. Any one seen this error message? Can any one please guide or explain what I need to do? It's puzzling to me as why it shows the error message sometimes and sometimes it is not.
I appreciate your help. If by chance the NVRAM was cleared when the battery was removed then the system will automatically redetect all the installed hardware on the next reboot. Since the BIOS settings will be defaulted back to their factory settings, you will have to change any personalized settings like the boot order, Quick Boot and Quiet Boot back to the way you had them. If you made no personalized settings then default settings will be justfine. You will also have to re-enter the time and date. Since you will be replacing the battery I would clear the NVRAM anyways just to make sure there are no conflicts that are adding to your problem. To clear the NVRAM just do this.
With the machine unplugged from the wall remove the battery from the motherboard. Then with the machine still unplugged press the On button for several seconds to dissipate any remaining electrical charge on the motherboard.
Then re-install the battery, plug the machine back into the wall and see if it will boot normally without the diskette error. Hi KennyDeHart, Did you make any changes to the computer prior to the issue occurred? You may get this error if “floppy' drive is not being seen at boot”. Most of you don't have a floppy drive. So, you need to restart the system and boot in the BIOS(Basic Input and output system) setup screen. Turn off the floppy disk in startup and check that your hard drive is seen correctly. This most commonly happens when the motherboard battery is removed, or has died.
Or when a reset was done within the setup BIOS screen. BIOS: frequently asked questions Note: Modifying BIOS/ complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) settings incorrectly can Cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from booting properly. Didn't think floppy disk were still in existence. I guess i drove myself into trouble, i got a 120 hard disk for qosmio g35 650 laptop formatted the 80gb that came with it but after down loading the raid driver to install xp, which xp recognise the drive but after formatting it just about when file are been prepared to be copied the blue screen comes up with a message (pls insert diskette with raid driver) pls i need help cause i cant just restore my system and av spent so much buying different version of xp thinking that is the problem but that message (pls insert diskette with raid driver) keep coming up pls anyone with a solution.
You need to install the RAID driver for the controller on the XP install. Pressing F6 when prompted before the XP Install will allow you to insert a CD/Floppy with the RAID drivers.
Also make sure you're running compatibility mode in the BIOS and not AHCI. In order to switch to AHCI mode (SATA) you need to have the drivers installed in XP first after it's enabled in BIOS. Also, make sure the drive is partitioned and not just formatted.

That being said, we have begun getting sporadic reports of delayed delivery of e-mail to devices (by a few hours or so). There doesn 't appear to be any rhyme or reason for it (I 've seen it happen to someone on the same PO and device as me). We 've tried a reboot, but the problem remains. Is there any maintenance I should be running (db optimization, cache flushing, etc) that could potentially help this problem? Hi all: A few days ago I (in hindsight misguidely) attempted to update the BIOS on my Tecra 9100.
Now on power-up I receive the message 'BIOS(Block1) is damaged! (Call your serviceman.) Serviceman: Place maintenance disk in drive and press any key when ready'.
I have tried to restore the BIOS by following the instructions on the BIOS driver web page (traditional method using a USB FDD) - power-on with the key immediately to the left of the spacebar depressed leads to the message 'Ready for BIOS update. Place the BIOS update diskette in the drive, and press any key when ready to proceed.' The diskette is regularly accessed and the laptop beeps about every 10 seconds for a period of a few minutes. It then stops, but starts again after any key is depressed. However, there is no change of the screen information, and any eventual reboot just results in the same error message about the damaged BIOS. Can anyone shed any light on what might be going on here? I am concerned that I possibly should be following some instructions on the screen (as the instructions for the BIOS update suggest) which I cannot see as the screen is not active?
As a result I may not be hitting the correct responses when required. Do I really need the serviceman and his maintenance diskette? Is this diskette available anywhere so I can do this myself? Any help or suggestions anyone can give on this would be much appreciated - I don't want to go chasing a new motherboard unless it is absolutely necessary.
Cheers, Chris. My new Dimension 8300 with Win XP Pro is having problems reading the A-drive. After a restart the computer will not recognize the contents of a formatted diskette--it wants to reformat it.
If you reformat the diskette, copy a file to it and then replace the diskette with a second diskette, the computer ('My Computer') will still show the contents of the first diskette even if you do a 'refresh'. You can even eject the second diskette, put it back in and click on the icon for the file from the first diskette and that file will open up. Anybody know what is going on? Is this a new feature of XP? Is it a hardware issue? 'Trying to Install A New Harddrive' Prepped and installed new harddrive. BIOS recognizes.
All hardware pass Dell Extended Test. Dells Diagnostics doesn't mention the SATA Controller Card or Chip (whatever it is), and neither confirms nor verifies it. Windows Installation pulls up Blue Screen. No solution mentioned anywhere.
Is there anyway I can test the Dell Built-in SATA Controller Card/Chip? See what SATA Controller drivers are currently installed?
See if I can update the SATAController drivers if possible? *I don't want to flash the BIOS if I can avoid that, and keep the computer BIOS in it's original.
*I'm going ahead and buying a 3rd party PCI SATA Card. Hopefully that will resolve the problem through Win XP installation F6. Any help or suggestions on this is appreciated.

The person who gave it to me said the hard drive was blank and needed a OP system installed. I have a full version of Windows 98 that boots from the CD. The problem I am having is when the computer boots up it gives me this error: 02B0:Diskette Drive A error press ESC to resume, DEL to setup I really am not wanting to use the A drive and would like to remove it from the system, so I went in and removed the drive and the cable from the mother board and try to set the 1st boot to the CD-ROM. The computer still gives me the 02B0:Diskette Drive A error press ESC to resume, DEL to setup and it will not boot to the CD-ROM drive. Any help would be appreciated Ben. BenHopkins, Go into the BIOS and disable the floppy drive controller. You will find this in the advanced section.
You need to disable this or it will continue to search for this drive. You may find that this system will not be able to boot to the CD Rom because there are no drivers for the CD Rom built into the BIOS of this system. You may need to get the boot disk from dell that comes with the CD Rom drivers on it. The file on the Dell download site is diagft32.exe.
If this is the case then you will need to have the floppy drive installed in the system to install your OS then you can remove it and will only need it back if you need to do this again. Hi, I recently flash my HP pavilion 9080.be (motherboard IPIBL-LA with Amibios) to put the version 5.13; The flash failed and my computer give a black screen at boot time. My computer being still covered by a warranty, I contact the HP support.
They tell me that flashing the bios without their authorization is not covered by the warranty!!! So now I try to fix this problem myself (maybe with your help).
I found on the net several procedures that did not fix my issue: I connect a diskette reader in my PC and put a diskette with a file AMIBOOT.ROM containing the amibios version 5.13.At boot it beeps 3 times I try same procedure with CD-romSame; at boot it beeps 3 times I try to put bootable diskette with autoexec running dos flashing programs (I try 3 different ones)Same; at boot it beeps 3 times I try a bootable CD with autoexec running dos flashing programs (I try 3 different ones)Same; at boot it beeps 3 times Did someone get the same issue and achieve to finally flash this bios? Thanks for your info.
• Download ThinkPad Hardware Maintenance Diskette (HMD). I have 1.83 attached here. You can certainly find other versions on the Internet somewhere. • DO NOT use windows 10!! I've only tried windows 10 & 7, both 64 bit. Windows 7 worked with all my flash drives.
But the application will not find your USB stick on windows 10. Bird Hunter 2003 Wild Wings Edition Download. • Unzip the TP HMD. Use 'usbfmtpw.exe' to make a bootable HMD USB. If it says 'Error: Drive not found to format', then it's very likely it can't run on your OS (Windows 10 for instance).
Otherwise, you will see a format window. Make sure it's your flash drive. Don't worry about the size. You can always format it in windows, and the flash drive will turn back to normal. • Boot your Thinkpad with the USB stick you just made. You might need to hit 'F12' to open the boot options to choose it.
You will see a blue screen with some descriptions of the tool. • Choose option 1, '1. ' or something like that. I can't remember now, but it's pretty straightforward once you are at this step. • Follow the instructions. It's pretty easy. You will need to input the Model Type and SN together, with '1S' at the beginning.
Say, model type 1234CTO, SN 56789AB, you will need to input '1S1234CTO56789AB'. It may vary depending on your machine. • Then simply reboot.
